North Colebrook

CP Coal Train at North Colebrook

An eastbound CP coal train, destined for the mines in the Crowsnest of southeastern British Columbia, passes BCR mile 7.8 after unloading at the Roberts Bank facility. The track in the foreground is the BNSF main line at North Colebrook (mile 131.5) where the railway meets the Roberts Bank line, built in 1970 using much of the old GN right-of-way from Cloverdale to Ladner (Guichon). From here, known as Guichon Junction until 1935, the BNSF will use a short section of track controlled by the BCR before diverging for the coastal run to the USA-Canada border.
